Great cities
Our top four are Cape Town, with the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain,
Sydney, with its harbor and opera house, New York, a vibrant city with shows, shopping and skyscrapers and Venice, awash with art treasures and history.
Great scenery
Our selections are the Canadian Rockies, the spectacular Iguassu Falls, the breathtakingly beautiful Grand Canyon (especially at dawn and dusk), the British Virgin Islands, quintessential Caribbean islands with white beaches lapped by turquoise seas and the forests and rivers of Alaska.
Great wildlife
The world’s wildlife is best observed in the least developed parts of the globe. Follow in Darwin’s footsteps to the Galapagos Islands, witness the Great Migration in Masai Mara, Kenya, explore the Great Barrier Reef or visit the frozen landscapes of Antarctica.
Great man made monuments
Man’s imprint on the planet is best exemplified by the sheer scale of monuments such as the Great Wall of China and Terracotta warriors, the Pyramids and temples of Luxor (Egypt) or Machu Pichu (Peru) and by the craftsmanship of monuments such as Taj Mahal (India), Alhambra (Spain), Petra (Jordan) and Temple of Angkor Wat (Cambodia).
Great experiences
There are few truly unique experiences left, but a few do still remain. Travel on the iconic Orient Express and step back into a bygone era, walk in the Himalayas and stay in local villages, take a balloon ride over the plains of Africa or Australia or explore Antarctica in a small boat.
